Last night's triumphant victory over the Philadelphia Eagles was another display of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart’s fearless rushing nature, and his coveted plus two attitude, however another trip to the blue tent due to concussion protocol raises the question over whether his courageous and fearless game is a blessing or a curse for the New York Giants.

Ever since Dart won the starting job in New York after being selected in the first round of the 2025 draft, he has been the guy the Giants faithful have been waiting for, and with what he showed at Ole Miss transitioning nicely into the NFL scene, one aspect of his game that is getting tougher is his rushing game, and that head first, no slide mentality is becoming a real eye catcher for fans.

Whether it is getting you on the edge of your seat, or it pumps you up, Dart’s rushing stats so far show there is nothing to worry about with his game on the ground and that he is the dual threat QB they have been looking for, but it is the behind the scenes consequences that fans should really take a look at.

Throughout his college career, Jaxson Dart was  a very aggressive rusher with the ball, and seemed to love contact in order to gain extra yardage, a mentality a coach can love and hate. However, despite his stats on the ground being very very special, with 167 rushing yards for 32 carries, and two rushing touchdowns, it is the injury concern and fearlessness which may be too much for head coach Brian Daboll to handle, and as much desire and passion Dart has to gain yards after contact, it isn't always the smartest idea, especially after being given the chance to be starting QB.

Last week against the Saints, Dart’s fearless rushing mentality did end up in a game changing fumble, another example of what can come from being too aggressive, and the situation he is currently in, and how valuable he is right now to the Giants, sliding is the best outcome. Dart is a massive breath of fresh air for the Giants and their fans, but his fearless attitude may need to take a couple of steps back before things start getting out of hand, and he should make sure he maintains the right level of caution and aggression.
