From top 5 receiver in the league, to forgotten man in Las Vegas, but will Matt Stafford bring out the best in Davante Adams in Los Angeles? Former All-Pro Davante Adams has lost his spark and elite level ever since he left Green Bay for a homecoming reunion with the Raiders, and the last three seasons have been ones to forget. However, a retry on the West Coast, pairing up with Matt Stafford could reignite his All-Pro form, and Davante Adams could be back kicking with the best receivers in the NFL.

Davante Adams was highly regarded as one of the best and most un-guardable receivers in the NFL for some time during his career with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, but after leaving in 2021 to take on a new challenge with the Raiders, things went south quickly. Even though his first year with the Raiders was statistically a solid year after reuniting with his college QB Derek Carr, the next two seasons went downhill, and began to see a new QB every other week. Jarett Stidham, Brian Hoyer, and Jimmy Garoppolo were just some of the names Adams paired up with in Las Vegas, but none worked out, and his career began to take a downward spiral.

Everything seemed to line up again for Adams after he was traded to the New York Jets in order to reunite with Aaron Rodgers at the MetLife Stadium, but a year in which nothing went right for New York, only made things messier for Adams.

Even though Adams was forgotten and not talked about as much during his time in Las Vegas and New York, he did manage to continue to put up 1,500+ yard seasons, but the spark and playoff drive was just never there.

Nevertheless, the last three years can be put aside, and a dangerous duo on paper with Matt Stafford and himself could be a very interesting duo for next season in LA, and Stafford’s elite game could just bring back Adams true form. As Puka Nacua steps into Cooper Kupp’s spot as WR1, Adams will have the opportunity to start as the second receiver in LA, and will have some solid reps and opportunities to put his talents on show. One thing Stafford can do is bring Adams back to the postseason where he belongs and often thrives, but the story for the Rams next season is whether Davante Adams can finally flourish under a top 5 QB, and whether his talents have been neglected and buried away under the bigger problems at his former teams.
