The famous Arc De Triomphe is set to be another stacked race for horses around the world, and as ante-post picks begin to heat up, one horse in the famous Aga Khan colours who currently sits at a 14/1 ante-post in the market is making all the claims to take the coveted trophy come. Francis Graffard just missed out on the Arc last year with Calandagan behind Aidan O’Brien’s legendary City Of Troy, but 3 year old Daryz might be the next to bring the trophy back home for France.

The 3 year old colt, son of legendary middle distance traveller Sea The Stars is unbeaten on home soil as it stands, and is the latest of Francis Graffard and the Aga Khan’s stars to look impressive, and among a large field of promising talent, looks a big player for the Arc in October. Daryz who is yet to compete in a group one race may get that chance in late August, competing with the best of the best in the Juddmonte International at York, and a big statement win there may confirm everything we thought about Daryz.

Carrying a 100% win rate over four races so far, all in France, and all over a mile and two, Daryz is a classic Aga Khan Arc horse, and his experience over the distance at Longchamp will definitely come in handy. Not only is Daryz a classic improving 3 year old, but it seems his genetic credentials speak for themselves, and similarly to Graffard's star Calandagan, will make all the claims come October time.

Nevertheless, his first big test will likely come at York. Taking on some competitors he may line up against at the Arc such as Aidan O’Brien's extremely impressive Whirl, a big finish, and big signs of improvement in the Juddmonte (if he runs) will point all the signs to a big run at Longchamp.

So far as an unexposed, flawless horse, with a pedigree that promises immense stamina and class, he is yet to fully come off the bridle, and being a top class horse already means he has much more left in the tank when the big races come. Sectional data has also shown that he is only getting quicker, and as his races go by, the speed and class is only improving.

So overall, as the best suited and best bred horse in the field so far for the Arc, and with more improvement to come, Daruz is a serious option for the big one in France. His upside is scary, and his class is unmatched, a proper horse, with some proper value headed to the Arc.
