Is Jeremiyah Love Destined To Be A Top 3 Draft Pick?

This year's draft's standout running back Jeremiyah Love could go anywhere from the top 15 to the top 5, but it wouldn’t be a massive surprise at all to see the Notre Dame back land in the top three. With a team like Arizona in much more need of a running back than people may like to admit, he could be a perfect selection for the Cardinals, and it is becoming increasingly likely that he could earn himself the title of being a top three draft pick.

Jermeiyah Love was the NCAA’s most explosive running back last year, and has been competing with the best like Ashton Jeanty is years prior. Love is set to attend the NFL draft in  just over a month's time, and where he could end up has somewhat been a mystery so far, but for me it looks very likely that he could be off the board pretty quick.

With the Las Vegas Raiders poised to select Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza, and the likely follower at number two being Arvell Reese of Ohio State, the third spot lands in Arizona, and a running back looks like a big hole for them in their upcoming season. Although James Conner has been a worthy servant over the last few years, and the likes of Bam Knight putting in some decent performances this year, Conner has battled more injuries than the Cardinals would have liked, and with his age only going up every year, it looks the perfect time to add a new exciting back to the team, some explosiveness and a new chapter for Arizona.

Just like when Ashton Jeanty was selected early on last year in the draft, it is becoming more and more common to see running backs and receivers selected early on, and in this year's case, Love looks a great option for the Cardinals. With Kyler Murray likely to be leaving this offseason, a top tier running back is going to be exactly what they need while they sort out their QB conundrum, and a there looks to be no better guy than Love who not only looks NFL ready, but looks the guy who can kick start a new future in Arizona.

After a very impressive combine putting up amazing stats including a 4.36 40 yard dash, and showcasing a very large frame and low center of gravity similar to Ashton Jenaty and Trey’veon Henderson, Love looks the full package, and if combine stats are anything to go by, he is the next big running back set to enter the NFL. Teams like the Kansas City Chiefs are likely a team who will have Love very high on their draft radar, but the Cardinals have the upper hand, and if there is ever a perfect selection, right now the stars are aligning for Jeremiyah Love to become the new kid on the block in Arizona.
