Same Old Story For The Ravens

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens suffered a heart breaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in last year's playoffs, after a Zay Flowers fumble saw them be dumped out in the AFC Championship game. But coming into the 2025 Divisional round against Josh Allen and the Bills, the Ravens were dealt yet another bad hand, and saw a Mark Andrews muffed two point conversion potentially cost the game, and once again get dumped out in horrible fashion.

With three straight exits for the Ravens in the playoffs, in somewhat horrible fashion, it's the same old story once again for Lamar. With an excellent game against the Bills with 254 passing yards, and two passing touchdowns, along with 39 rushing yards, Lamar would eventually look to his star players such as Derrick Henry and Mark Andrews to convert on the big plays, and get Baltimore over the line. With Flowers out of the game, Lamar would look to Andrews and secondary tight end Isaiah Likely to score points, and ultimately targeted star tight end Mark Andrews on a game tying two point conversion. Unbelievably the tight end bobbled the catch, failing to convert the two points, and put the Ravens within striking distance. Having flashbacks to last year, the Ravens fell short in the playoffs once again, and it became clear that they lacked big game players, and were unable to strike when it mattered.

This raises the question as to whether the Ravens really do lack playoff level players, and those who can handle the pressure and expectation of a playoff team. With two unacceptable exits in the eyes of Lamar Jackson, it's clear there is an issue with composure and poise when it comes to Ravens players in the playoffs, and will definitely be an issue to address come this off season. It's looking more and more likely that young tight end Isaiah Likely will become the teams first choice tight end following a breakout year, and on top of Mark Andrews’s struggle in the regular and postseason, Likely will probably be Lamar Jackson's go to target in 2025.
