The 2025 NFL draft could mark a pivotal change in the Jacksonville Jaguars future after adding generational two way player Travis Hunter. The Jags made the ballsy decision to make the jump to number two in the draft to select the one in a million athlete, and have not only strengthened their secondary, but may have also created one of the best receiving duos in the NFL.

Jacksonville have struggled with having a number one receiver for the last couple of years, but this year under new head coach Liam Coen, they have not only added one elite receiver to the group in Travis Hunter, but paired up with last years first round pick Brian Thomas Jr, the Jaguars may already have one of the most elite and dangerous receiving duos for next season.

After a breakout year by Brian Thomas Jr last season, clocking in 1,282 yards from 87 receptions, 10 touchdowns, with an average of nearly 15 yards per catch, the 23rd pick of the 2024 NFL draft cemented himself as arguably the best receiver of the draft, and in his rookie year highlighted why he is the bright spark for a bleak Jags team. But heading into the 2025/26 season, all eyes will be shifted onto their brand new second overall pick, Travis Hunter as his elite receiving skills will only add fear and electricity into Jacksonville's offense.

Hunter was regarded as not only one of the best cornerbacks in this year's draft class, but also one of the best receivers alongside Tet McMillan and Matthew Golden. Jacksonville who sat at five at the start of draft night managed to make a deal with Cleveland which put them in pole position to select Hunter which they did, making their offense massively better. Hunter had an amazing college season, winning the Heiseman award, had his jersey number retired in Colorado, and put up 1,258 yards from 96 receptions, with a staggering 20 touchdowns.

It took one pick in the draft for the Jaguars to make their receiving room go from Parker Washington and Christian Kirk, to Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr, and will be one of the most dangerous, exciting, and elite receiving groups in the NFL. If Trevor Lawrence can find his form, and Hunter can easily translate his college game to the NFL, then the Jaguars could make an argument for one of the best offenses in the league pretty quickly. Being so similar to the Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins duo, Hunter and Thomas could be the next best duo, and definitely have the stats to prove it.

With youth and passion coursing through the Jaguars new offense, Hunter and Thomas will be a spectacle to look out for, and in a couple of years could be championship calibre offensive duo, and duo which may be talked about for the ages.
