The Super Bowl Will Prove To Be A Massive Learning Curve For The Patriots

Last night was a night to forget for the Patriots and their fans, however their Super Bowl 60 loss may not be all negatives, but will soon prove to be a massive learning curve for Mike Vrabel’s team. The 29-13 loss didn’t reflect how poor the game was offensively, and for the Patriots, lessons will have been learned, and improvement will definitely be on the horizon.

For Drake Maye and his team, the Seahawks impeccable defense completely shut down any sort of offensive rhythm the Patriots tried to get going. Whether it was pressure on the QB, or elite coverage in the secondary, despite giving up a touchdown in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks defense did nothing wrong and the Patriots offense had a lot to learn, and will have lots of work in the offseason.

The discourse following the game is heavily focused on the Patriots lack of strength when it comes to protecting the QB, and one guy in particular is getting more heat than he may have wanted. This year's 4th overall draft pick Will Campbell out of LSU was anticipated to be the guy the Patriots needed on the left hand side of the o-line, however struggles all season didn’t exactly wash away in the biggest game of them all, and Campbell definitely had a night he would not want to re-live.

For New England, the defense was thriving once again, and heading into next season they will likely continue to be one of the best teams on the back end, however last night’s Super Bowl told us one thing, they need more experience, and they may have peaked too early. For Drake Maye, getting to the SB was probably not even in the question in only his second season, however they got there no matter how easy people may say their journey was, but it seemed maturity and lack of experience against these real elite defenses was what caused them to panic and underperform, and if anything they can take this as a huge learning curve going forward.

The Patriots have one of the most exciting futures ahead of them in the NFL; they have the head coach, and they have their franchise QB, and despite their story coming to an unfavourable end last night, it is a game they will soon look back on as a game which tight them how to become true winners, and a game that will shape them into an even better team long term.
