The big name quarterbacks in this year's college football draft class have been the likes of Garrett Nussmeier of LSU, Drew Allar of Penn State, and Arch Manning of Texas, but it is South Carolina Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers who is making his case as the name to remember for NFL scouts, and is already emerging as one of, if not the best QB of the 2026 NFL draft class.

Sellers, who wasn’t a name of a lot of scouts radars heading into the season has really burst onto the scene so far into the college football season, and after another impressive Gamecocks win last night, Sellers is only getting better every week, and he has the stats and upside to prove it.

Last season with South Carolina, Sellers ended his season with a decent stat line of 299 pass attempts for 2,534 yards, not to mention his rushing stats of 166 carries for 674 yards, scoring seven touchdowns of his own. However this season, his stats only look like they are going to get a whole lot better. 48 carries for 98 yards, passing for 886 yards already through only five weeks, Sellers is emerging as one of the more exciting QB’s for the upcoming NFL draft class, and is definitely one to keep an eye on.

With LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier still being the most talked about QB for the upcoming draft, what Sellers is doing for the Gamecocks, and what he is doing for himself is worthy of watching, and who knows how good he can get by the end of the year. Clocking an unofficial 40 time of 4.62, standing at 6 '3, Sellers will continue to grow and improve rapidly to meet the NFL quota, and as far as modern day NFL QB’s go, Sellers is the full package.

Having rushing abilities like some of the best in the game, mirroring Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts’ game, and having amazing passing and coverage IQ just like your Josh Allen and Jared Goff’s, Sellers doesn't need much more to be considered a top level prospect, and with a whole lot of a season to go, Sellers’s ceiling is unknown, and come next year, he could be right at the very top of the rankings.
