The Cavaliers Could Really Go 72-10

A 16th straight win by Cleveland last night puts them up to 56-10 on the season so far, with 16 games to go they show no signs of slowing down, but they could end up winning all 16.

The Cavaliers currently sit top of the eastern conference, and top of the overall standings all together with 56 wins and 10 losses, but with 16 games left to play, the Cavaliers have an amazing chance at becoming the third team ever in NBA history to win 70 games or more.

In their game last night against Memphis, Evan Mobley and the Cavs put on a stellar performance beating the Grizzlies by  nine points despite Memphis star Ja Morant dropping 40 points. The absence of All-star Donovan Mitchell is showing no major problems for the Cavs in the last two games either, and with doubts ahead of their next game against Orlando, another win without their star would give the Cavs and their fanbase a real shot at winning 70+.

The Cavs win against the Grizzlies not only showed their determination and grit to get tough games over the line when the opposition is playing at their best, but highlighted that even without Mitchell they can put on a show. With a perfect balance of offense and defense, players like Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen compliment each other amazingly on the court, and have proven to be the perfect formula for the Cavs to cement themselves in history.

The Cavs arguably have one of the simpler schedules coming into the final stretch of the season, and if they can maintain their form until Mitchell returns, and keep getting tough gritty games over the line, it will be a smooth ride to the big number 70 that every elite team dreams of.

Coming up against teams like the Jazz, the Spurs, and the Trailblazers who have effectively nothing to play for, the Cavs will look to attack and play their basketball heading into the games, and make their path to being a potential 72-10 team a whole lot easier had everyone and everything go swimmingly.
