The Kentucky Derby, the Belmont Stakes, the Jim Dandy, and now the Travers, Godolphin’s star, world beating three year old has done it all this season, and with all eyes on the coveted Breeders Cup Classic in November, Sovereignty will have his chance at conquering five of the biggest group one test in horse racing, and Breeders Cup success would cement his immortality and status as one of the greatest horses in horse racing history.

Defeating the famous Journalism twice, rival Baeza twice, and a handful of other extremely talented horses across the Derby, the Jim Dandy, and the Belmont, his next test looks to be the hardest of them all. Forget the triple crown, and forget the big four timer, Sovereignty will line up against some special equine phenom’s. Sierra Leone, Mindframe, Fierceness, not to mention the several other challenges to head to the Breeders Cup, Sovereignty will have his work cut out for him, but it looks inevitable.

Whether it is slop, dry, or fair, Godolphin’s golden boy will find no obstacle too tough to conquer. Wins over the worst slop imaginable at Churchill Downs, and wins on the dryest surfaces of them all like last night in the Travers Stakes, Sovereignty is the horse to beat, and every owner, trainer, and horse will have his card marked as the one to beat, but after triumph in four of the biggest races a three year old can have, stopping the freight train that is Sovereignty may prove to be too much, no matter how good they can be.
