Ashton Jeanty perfect for Cowboys

Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty now has 20 touchdowns this season after logging another 3 touchdowns in his game versus Nevada on Saturday. Following an explosive start to the season Jeanty solidified his spot as a first round selection almost instantly with an unbelievable 6 touchdown game in the opener against Georgia Southern, but the possibility of Jeanty becoming a top 10 pick is still up in the air. Coming into the halfway point of the NFL season, its easy to see which teams are struggling in the run game, and one team in particular stands out, the Dallas Cowboys. With one of the oldest running back groups in the NFL, the Cowboys are desperately in need of a refresh in the backfield, and Jeanty looks the perfect candidate to fill the void in Dallas. With both Ezekiel Elliot and Dalvin Cook not showing any clear signs of fulfilling their previous form, a fresh start with Jeanty is exactly what the Cowboys need to become a solid playoff contender once again, after a rocky season so far.

With the running back position looking bleak as a whole across the league, and in need of a surge of new talent, the Cowboys would benefit massively off the back of selecting Jeanty, and would have a big head start on other teams struggling in the backfield. Jeanty has started the first part of the college football season with 190 carries, with 1525 yards, and 20 rushing touchdowns in only 8 games so whether he will drop so far as the cowboys pick in the draft which is estimated mid to late 1st round is questionable, but it's no doubt the Cowboys should go big or go home and capitalise on the opportunity, and test every avenue possible to acquire the 20 year old star.
