Tennessee Need To Take Luther Burden In The Second Round

Tennessee are walking away from day one of the NFL draft with their soon to be franchise quarterback Cam Ward, but with six more rounds of excitement for all teams it is vital Tennessee get everything right this year.

One area in particular that Tennessee should definitely target on day two is Missouri’s Luther Burden, a player they have an extremely good chance at getting.

After drafting Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward at number one, there will be no smoke without fire unless the Titans get him a star wide receiver. Although the Titans still have some veteran receivers on the payroll, the newest being Seahawks long term vet Tyler Lockett, Cam Ward and the Titans front office will be looking to add a bit of youth to the receiving room, and Luther Burden could be exactly what they need.

Burden who has had three very promising years with the Missouri Tigers, and once was regarded as one of the best players coming in the 2025 draft class. But as time progressed, Burden slowly began to fall behind receivers like Golden and McMillan, but is still highly regarded as a game changing receiver.

The 5 '9 receiver had a great year with Missouri, scoring six touchdowns, and averaged a solid 11 yards per catch, cementing himself as a solid slot receiver for any team who picks him up. But with some of the best receivers already off the board, and the Titans possessing the 35th overall pick, Burden will be there for the taking, and should definitely be on the Titans radar. 

Tennessee has been somewhat notorious for being a team with aging and depleted receivers who have passed their best, but a big splash on a guy with as high of a ceiling as Burden has, it could be the perfect compliment for Cam Ward, and could be a big refresh for the Titans going forward. Burden is a great, speedy playmaker who has similarities to those in Miami like Restrepo, and with Ward knowing what he likes, and what type of receivers he is comfortable with, Luther Burden could be a perfect sidekick for the newest Titans quarterback.
