Another second place finish for Arsenal this season once again highlighted their issues up front, and the massive hole they have had for the last couple of years at the number nine position, but amongst names like Benjamin Sesko, and Viktor Gyokeres, Brighton’s Joao Pedro is one who could be sneaky addition for Mikel Arteta this summer.

With Kai Havertz not looking like the right number nine for Arteta, and Gabriel Jesus plagued with injuries, a new man up front has been the main talking point for the Gunners for the last couple of years, but now it is time for them to take a wild swing, and amongst a plethora of bad number nines, Joao Pedro has the pedigree and Premier League experience to be the perfect man.

Brighton have insisted over the last few months amongst heavy interest over the Brazilian striker that he does not have a release clause, but could demand up to £70 million, and in Arsenal’s case, with not a lot of competitors on the horizon, and similar strikers looking to be upwards of the £70 million mark, Pedro could be the striker they are looking for, and would be a bold move for their title hopes next season.

With those like Gyokeres and Sesko, even Frankfurt’s Ekitike looking to reach the £100 million mark, Pedro is a player who is proven in the Premier League, and has proven that he is a reliable goal scorer against some of the league's best teams. With an affordable price tag, and a player who would sit in perfectly to Arteta’s system, a player who is proven and has the CV to back it up is probably a better swing than a player like Sesko who hasn't had the big league experience Pedro has, and could be a smarter move on Arsenal’s behalf.
