The Colts Have Finally Found A Winning Formula

Whether it is the fresh face at QB, the new management in charge, or just the whole new feel in Indy, the Colts have finally found their mojo once again, and their league best 7-1 record doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Having arguably the best running back in the league right now in Jonathan Taylor, one of the best QB’s in form, and some of the biggest improvers including Michael Pittman Jr, and new tight end Tyler Warren, this Colts team feels like every piece fits perfectly into the puzzle, and they won’t be slowing down.

After joining the Colts in 2023, head coach Shane Steichen didn’t have the best of starts, and had a very wonky QB situation in front of him, juggling between Anthony Richardson, Gardner Minshew, and Joe Flacco, however that is certainly not the case now.

After being released by the Giants at the end of last season, Daniel Jones earned himself a deal with the Colts, bidding to beat Anthony Richardson out of a starting job, and get his career back on track. Jones who eventually took the reins of the starting job went on to show why he is a former first round pick, and how his talent he put on show a few years ago is still well in tacks. As of their first eight games, Jones has continued to get better and better under Steichen’s command, and has been the QB Steichen so desperately needed for his offence to get going, and now with Indy looking to extend him long term, it looks as if their gamble has paid off.

But not only is it Daniel Jones who is creating danger on offense, but Jonathan Taylor. Leading the league in carries, touchdowns, and rushing yards puts him well on pace for the coveted triple crown, and rightly so. It looks as if every time he touches the ball there is an exciting drive. Whether it is a 30 yard chunk play, or a 70 yard touchdown, JT can do it all, and for Steichen, years on one dimensional football has been the death of the Colts, but with offense being his forte, everything is clicking well into place.

And not to mention how good Tyler Warren has been. The Colts have always been a team who have utilised tight ends effectively, and Warren is the perfect wildcard for them. Having a great first half of his rookie campaign only leads to even more positive signs down the line, and for the Colts he is an asset who  may become untouchable in a few years time. With Warren, Taylor, and Jones, everything has fallen into place, and with a new positive attitude comes triumph for Indianapolis.
