Odell Beckham Jr isn't calling it quits on his career yet, stating that after almost a year as a free agent, he is yet to ‘Finish off my legacy’. The 10 year veteran who is still seeking a contract heading into year 11 has had one of the biggest regressions by a wide receiver in recent years, but as far as wide receivers go, he is still one of the best on the market. With no phone calls during the summer, there are two teams in particular who could take a swing on OBJ, a low buy, high reward situation. Here they are.

The Kansas City Chiefs

As concerns begin to grow in the Kansas City Chiefs locker room after losing their two best receivers early in the season, Hollywood Brown, and veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster take the reins of the two top receivers on the depth chart, however unrest among the staff in Kansas assumes that a big move for a big receiving target could be on the way.

Starting the season off with an unusual 0-2 record has shown how difficult it has been for quarterback Patrick Mahomes to release the ball, and has clearly found issues with finding chemistry with his current receivers. With Xavier Worthy injured for the foreseeable future, and Rashee Rice suspended until at least week 7, who knows how much longer the Chiefs will roll with Hollywood Brown and Smith-Schuster as the main targets for Mahomes, and eyeing up a free agent receiver could be a pending move.

Having to hold off until at least game week 7 isn't ideal for Mahomes or the Chiefs, however exploring a move for Odell Beckham Jr isn't a bad option, and is a very low risk, with high potential, also adding another veteran with good hands for Mahomes. Given that OBJ’s last contract with Miami was a one year $3 million deal, salary is no major issue, and again highlights how for a budget sum, bringing in a Super Bowl winning vet like OBJ could be beneficial for their receiving problems. Sure he hasn't been a lethal threat as a starting receiver since his time with the Giants, however as a reliable, big game play maker, he is an option for the Chiefs, and a very interesting temporary pickup which could improve their targeting issues.

The Pittsburgh Steelers

So far during the Aaron Rodgers era of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the receiving has been solid, but not by the receivers. Running back Jaylen Warren is currently the leading receiving target for the 40 year old veteran, with DK Metcalf serving as a close second. However, with only two of their receivers really looking competent, a move for a veteran who is a solid deep threat for a guy who likes to sling the ball like Aaron Rodgers, and a guy who can also slip into the slot like Odell Beckham Jr is perfect.

Again similar to the Chiefs, he would be a great addition to the depth chart, but differently in Pittsburgh, his presence and adaptability as a third or fourth depth chart receiver is a solid guy to lean on in tricky situations, and is a guy who could provide a lot more comfortability for Rodgers in his receivers. It is not only a very low risk adding a player who can jump in now and again, but is a great guy for Rodgers to turn to when he needs a veteran to pull through and make important plays. An interesting situation for Pittsburgh, but one that does make some sense.
