Kenneth Walker Set To Hit The Market In Shock Free Agency Decision?

With the massive decisions the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are to face contract wise this summer, this year's Super Bowl MVP, and Seahawks star running back may be the next big blockbuster superstar to hit the free agency market this offseason, and with Walker in search of big money, he won’t be short of offers.

With this year's free agency class not looking as strong offensively as teams may have liked, a guy like Walker hitting the market would be massive for teams in desperate need of backs like the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Giants, and although he is bound to be asking for a big number salary wise, how can a team turn down a Super Bowl MVP?

At the start of last season Walker himself was one of the players on everybody’s trade list, and was ranked one of the most likely players to be traded with young Zach Charbonnet taking a bigger role in Seattle. However, with a career year which included amazing rushing stats, and  Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP to go along with it, it was always going to be difficult for the Seahawks and himself to agree on a discounted price, and that salary demand may mean he ends up on the market come June 1st.

Having the current NFL offensive player of the year in Jaxon Smith-Njigba in pursuit of being the highest paid receiver in the NFL, it was always going to be difficult for Seattle to agree massive deals with both of their offensive stars, and with a big number of big contracts waiting to be signed, it seems Walker may be the one to miss out. For teams especially like the New York Giants, this is a situation they would never have imagined being possible coming into the offseason, and have the facilities to tackle it and add a franchise level piece.

After losing Saquon Barkley after not agreeing to a massive contract deal, it may be time for the Giants to do what they should've done with Saquon and pay their backs big deals. This year showed that with Jaxson Dart’s lack of experience, a big time running back like Kenneth Walker could be massive given the length of Cam Skattebo’s injury, however for New York, a team that doesn’t like taking big risks, it looks like Walker could be fit for a team like Kansas City instead.

With Travis Kelce’s future uncertain, that would release a lot of cap space, perfect for bringing a guy like Kenneth Walker in. Patrick Mahomes didn't have the rub of the green this season, and found himself on vacation for the first time in the offseason during his NFL career, had he of had more rushing support, that may not have been the case. For KC, Kenneth Walker is what they are crying out for, and had he hit the market, they wouldn't be shy to make the first move.
