It’s Time For The Dolphins To Hit The Reset Button, And Fans Need To Buy In

The sunny skies of Miami are looking pretty bleak right now, and it is time for a fresh new chapter for the Dolphins. They thought Tua was the guy, but nothing ever really materialised. Tyreek was a bust, and now it is definitely time to blow it all up and start from step one. As much as Miami fans would hate to head back into yet another rebuild, it is a must now with how things are going, and the fans need to buy in.

A 2-7 record on the season so far wasn't exactly what the Dolphins were hoping for, and another dismantling against the Ravens really put the cherry on top of the cake for how badly the season is going. With Tua not showing any more promise of improving, and seeming to have hit an invisible barrier, alongside star wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffering a gruesome knee injury, nothing is pointing out about the Dolphins, and apart from a few promising young stars, they are a directional team, in need of a big change.

Firing general manager Chris Grier is just the start, but it is the internal as well as the external that needs change. Blowing up the team is going to be a decision backed by the guys upstairs. The owners, the shareholders, and everyone else involved, but with how Miami looks from an outside point of view, it is hard to see the direction they are planning.

First of all, it is clear Tua and the offence just aren't working, whether it is realising and moving on straight away, or trying to squeeze out any trade value at all out of him, Tua has to go, and that could go the same for the likes of Jaylen Waddle. In a team as bad as them, Waddle is the guy who brings hope, joy, and excitement, but has some trade value that could be vital for a team looking to rebuild. It has been said that they will listen to offers for Waddle ahead of the trade deadline, however it is unlikely he departs. A guy like Waddle could easily fetch you some solid young talent, and could definitely fetch some really good draft capital, but once again, that decision has to come now, and Chris Grier leaving seems like something big could happen.

In others cases, it isn't just a QB issue in Miami, but a team issue as a whole. The coaching philosophy isn't working, the players aren't gelling, and the development hasn't been as expected. A new GM, a new coach, and a new crop of players is something the Dolphins need to start fresh, and something they need to start planning a new ;ath an culture, but as hard a pill as it is to swallow, nothing in Miami looks good, and as far as the owners and higher uppers are concerned, a big 180 degree turn to a new direction is a must given how much of a grey zone the Dolphins are currently in.
