The Colts 14th overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft Tyler Warren has impressed so far in training camp, and has become one of the top targets among the receivers for Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson, and is showing glimmers of being one of the biggest steals of the draft this year. After being tipped as a top 10 prospect in the draft, dropping into Indianapolis’ hands at 14 was something they needed more than ever, and will be hoping Warren can put up big numbers, and hopefully have a similar season to Brock Bowers who torched the league on a pretty dire Raiders team last year.

Bowers who was the only hope the Raiders had of any success last season had a stunning year, earning himself first team All-Pro honours, a Pro Bowl appearance, and came runner up in the rookie of the year voting in his first year in the league, and has set a new standard for fresh tight ends heading into the league, and has added much more expectation for rookie TE’s straight from the off. Bowers managed to total 1,194 receiving yards, smashing the records for the most yards by a rookie tight end in a season, and scored five touchdowns throughout the year. The young star has already solidified his place as one of the most promising tight ends in the league, but with a really solid bunch coming up the ranks, the Colts Tyler Warren will look to mirror, if not have a better season than Bowers.

Warren didn't do too badly himself in his senior year of college at Penn State, totalling 1,233 receiving yards across 104 receptions, and scored eight TD’s last year. Warren also has often highlighted his strengths in the run game, rushing for 218 yards as a versatile offensive weapon. But, it is whether he can translate those college stats to the NFL. Much like Bowers did, Warren will be looking to change almost nothing about his game, but get in the gym, and apart from the speed of the NFL. It isn't as if Bowers headed to Las Vegas with All-Pro QB’s, and elite play callers, he had three QB’s across the year, and still managed to reach those elite heights. Warren finds himself in a similar situation. A QB battle between two bang average passers, and a weak offensive play caller means Warren won't have any advantages, and could be poised for a Bowers like season.

Although the pressure is on for Warren to be the main man in Indy, there isn't major championship pressure, and not even pressure for him to be a superstar right away, but if he can get close to what Bowers did, the Colts will have found their guy, and their tight end problems may be put to rest. It is easy to say anybody can replicate Bowers’ season in the modern game, but Warren will have some serious work to do, but all signs are showing that he has the fight, and he has the desire to go out there and be the best in his rookie year.
