The Nicolas Jackson saga between Chelsea and Bayern Munich is finally over, and may just take the crown as the most beneficial transfer of the entire window. Bayern get their guy up top, and Chelsea get their money, and could still be pocketing at least 80 million euros by the end of the season. The deal which was halted following Liam Delap’s injury on Saturday almost put an end to the transfer, however after the recall of striker Marc Guiu from Sunderland, Jackson became a Bayern Munich player for the season.
Following the complications with the deal, the final fee sees Chelsea receive a 16.5 million euro loan fee for Jackson’s services this season, also including a non mandatory obligation to buy fee of 80 million euros. For both teams it is a win win, Bayern finally fill the hole behind Harry Kane after losing out on Nick Woltemade, and Chelsea receive a generous 16.5 million fee for the loan move. However, it is the 80 million euro buy clause which makes the deal a solid one for Chelsea.. On top of the 16.5 million fee for the loan, had things go well for the Senegalese striker, and he makes a good impression, they could be in for a massive profit, and Jackson could leave Chelsea, making this deal an extremely solid business move for Chelsea.
Nevertheless, if Bayern decide Jackson is nothing but a part-time replacement, Chelsea wont complain about the loan fee, and Bayern wont complain about the type of player they are getting as a substitute in return. There are deals everywhere during today’s deadline day, Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi head to Liverpool, and Gianluigi Donnarumma heads to Man City, but the Nicolas Jackson deal is a great bit of business for Cherlsea, and a great deal for Bayern, and who knows, in around 8 months time, Chelsea could be in for a big financial score.
