Why Cunha To Man United Is Not A Smart Idea

Ever since Wolves star Matheus Cunha announced that he will plan to leave Wolves at the end of the season to start a new chapter in his career, the rumours around the Brazilian stars new home have been circulating quickly, but it seems that Manchester United may be his preference.

With talks of personal agreements, and desires amongst Cunha and his camp towards joining Amorim’s new project in Manchester, the 25 year old sharpshooter is exactly what United fans are looking for. But with a handful of disciplinary issues, and the manner in which he decided to announce his departure from Wolves, his track record does not help his cause, and in fact could be yet another silly, and unsuccessful transfer for the Red Devils.

Cunha has had his fair share of mishaps, and misunderstandings this season, but in reality it all boils down to his short temper, and his issues with discipline overall. The Brazilian has already found himself on the end of two bans this season including a four match ban following violent conduct in the FA Cup, along with improper manner following the sending off. He was also banned for two games earlier in the season after an incident regarding a member of the Ipswich Town staff after the game, an incident you could only ever imagine in South American football.

The long pursuit by Manchester United for the Wolves star has been a long process in their bid to find their next big striker after the failures of Hojlund and Zirkzee, but despite Cunha’s amazing record, and sublime footballing ability, the last thing Amorim and Manchester United need on their hands is another selfish, and undisciplined player. United and their staff currently have enough issues on their hands, with stadium problems, bad on field performances, and financial issues in every possible sector, they really cant afford to have another disciplinary issue on their hands, and another dressing room problem for Amorim.

With Cunha’s amazing season comes amazing stats, and amazing performances, but with the rumoured fee to be looking to set United back over yet another £60 million on another striker with some major concerns, the transfer just doesn't look like it is what United need right now. Despite still having the pull, and the ability to bring in these big, talented players, it would be useful for United to target someone they know will do the job at Old Trafford, and not somebody who has too many concerns and baggage like the feisty Matheus Cunha.
