The Cavaliers Were In Dire Need Of an X-Factor Like James Harden

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made somewhat of a u-turn since last year's triumphant regular season campaign and adding a guy like James Harden at the trade deadline was something they so desperately needed. Having a team that is capable of big things isn’t ever complete without a good crop of X-factory guys, and the addition of future Hall of Famer James Harden alongside Donovan Mitchell will be the addition they will be so grateful for as the season progresses.

Last year the Cavaliers were one of the most dominant regular season teams, and after picking Donovan Mitchell up from the Utah Jazz, their story has taken a completely different direction. The team instantly got better, and everything was clicking, but with a rather inconsistent and unattractive record so far this season, they needed a change, and making a massive move for James Harden is a move that will definitely guide their season in an upwards trajectory.

Last night Harden started his first game alongside Mitchell, scoring 23 points and showcasing his already thriving chemistry with Mitchell and the team in a massive win over the Sacramento Kings. It was obvious the team was missing that guy who could be relied on to score behind the line, and could make plays at an elite level, and although Darius Garland who was traded to the Clippers was a solid counter;art for Mitchell, there aren't many guys like Harden, and his intangible scoring habits will work wonders in Cleveland.

As the end of the season nears, Cleveland will be hoping that they can get key guys back from injury, and build this ongoing chemistry between their new stars as a fresh playoff campaign is on the horizon. Harden not only is a guy who will engrave confidence and improvement from one goal line to the other, but he has that key playoff experience, and that scoring edge like no other player in the league really has. Cleveland are gearing up, and they haven’t written their season off yet. The east is strong, but the Cavs are getting stronger day by day, and the addition of James Harden was the perfect move to shake things up and get their season back on track.
