Amongst the disappointment and despair of the Washington Wizards franchise are a couple of great players who could change the franchise in a few years time. Alex Sarr, Khris Middleton, and shooting guard Jordan Poole. But after another terrible season, and no signs of improvement, former NBA champion Jordan Poole looks too valuable of an asset to be a Wizard.

The once NBA champion alongside some NBA greats like Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson is now 25 years old, and is somewhat wasting some of the bright talents we once saw in Golden State go to waste. With a growing reputation that Washington is where promising players career’s go to die, Poole is one of those who needs to get out quick, and is a unique asset for most contending teams.

Averaging around 20 points, three rebounds, and four assists per game consistently over his six year NBA career, Poole has also demonstrated his value during the postseason, and how much he can offer as a big game playoff player at such a young age. But after being traded to the Wizards two seasons ago after an altercation with long time veteran Draymond Green, Poole’s talent was sent to Washington as a bright spark in a pretty dull setup.

Although Washington would ideally want to keep Poole, and maintain his talent in order for him to be a big part of their rebuild, Poole’s talent, and simply what he offers to team across the regular and postseason is too good for Washington, and at only 25 his extensive knowledge and basketball maturity would be sad to see go to waste.

As Poole still has two years remaining on his $30 million plus deal he formerly signed with the Warriors, any team who needs a wildcard needs to look Poole’s way. With wisdom and experience learned from some of the best in the game, and still has so much to offer, he can not only be a valuable and productive player for most teams in the NBA, but is a player who can unlock some crazily special abilities when teams need him the most.

As the doom and gloom of the Washington Wizards has overlooked and shadowed Poole’s true abilities for the last two year, it is time fort teams to realise his true value, and see what they are really getting in Jordan Poole.
