Week one of the NFL is officially under way and after Philadelphia get a week one win at home in their first title defending game, and the Chargers get the win down in Brazil, fantasy football is already heating up, and some players have already begun to make their names known, especially some wide receivers who put in some big performances already, especially Quentin Johnston.

The Chargers comfortably took down Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs, however no matter how much doubt there was over their receiving room with former first round pick Quentin Johnston under pressure, and whether Keenan Allen can return to how he once was, Johnston pulled in some immaculate passes, and make a very big impression in Sao Paulo.

Whether he is a useful flex receiver, a bench player who can easily fit in at times of need, or a wildcard playmaker to switch things up, Johnston is already poised to be a great pickup for week two, and after a 79 yard, 2 touchdown performance against a very good secondary, Johnston showed out in his statement game, and racked up 24.9 fantasy points to go with it.

With 5 catches over 7 targets for a total of 79 yards, scoring two vital touchdowns for the Chargers was only an extra for the former first round pick, and with how LA are lining up so far this season, Johnston looks like he could be a key part of the offense for Justin Herbert. The Chargers offensive line and pass protection were grade A, and they looked comfortable to throw the ball, targeting all three major receivers. However, it was Johnston who got himself into those game changing positions, and showed lots of improvement from last year, and looks like he will be a solid deep threat, making his case as a consistent and solid 15-20 point fantasy guy.

Sure Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen still have the favourable routes, and will still likely be the two Herbert relies on, but after how Johnston played, he is definitely worth a spot on a fantasy roster, and if the Chargers offense holds up against greater opponents, and Johnston begins to become a threat in all areas, he is a great week 2 waiver pick up, and someone to definitely keep an eye on.
