The Steelers started their offseason in an unexpected turn of events after making a blockbuster trade with the Steelers in order to acquire star wide receiver D.K Metcalf, but with no solid quarterback situation, and the departure of Justin Fields to New York, there is one name the Steelers need to consider heading into next season.

With Justin Fields signing with the Jets and Russell Wilson’s departure imminent, all eyes should be on the Patriots former 6th round pick quarterback Joe Milton who could definitely have a massive impact in Pittsburgh. Being selected in the 6th round of the draft usually means little to no game time, but it's something about the Patriots drafting hidden gem quarterbacks in the 6th round that has given Joe Milton a larger chance than most.

With their 3rd overall pick last year Drake Maye being the future face of the franchise in New England, and the signing of backup quarterback Josh Dobbs breaking, it's clear the Patriots have a plan to trade odd one out Milton, but where does his best chances lie?

The Steelers have probably one of the worst quarterback situations in the league right now, with no major free agents left to add, and a not so great draft position it's likely they could turn to Joe Milton to give the 25 year old a chance. Milton has only played one NFL game in his career, but impressed fans across the league with an immaculate performance, showing off his scarily strong arm strength, completing 22 passes for 241 yards and one touchdown, earning himself a 111.4 passer rating, and a potential shot at an NFL starting job.

But could the risk to reward ratio be a problem for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers, or could it be a gamble that pays off? The price for Milton will most likely include asks for late round draft picks in the fifth or sixth round, but in Pittsburgh's situation, it's a super low risk move. Milton has some of the best underlying ability in the NFL, and some believe he even has the strongest arm in the league, a feature he showed off a lot at last year's combine. But with their new flashy wide receiver in Metcalf, and George Pickens on the other side, a quarterback is needed, and a player with deep ball ability like Milton could be the answer to the half a decade old quarterback issue in Pittsburgh.
