Western Michigan stunned David Carle’s two time national champions Denver to end the Pioneers hopes at a third national championship in four years, leaving him with some serious decisions ahead as NHL teams are set to poach the two time championship winning coach.

David Carle has really cemented himself as one of the most desirable and sought after coaches in hockey right now, and after a couple of seasons steering away from the NHL to continue his journey in Denver, Carle will have some tough decisions come this offseason as his demand is higher than ever.

With struggling and rebuilding teams like the Blackhawks and the Flyers looking to add new coaches at the start of next season, it's for sure Denver’s David Carle will be amongst a number of candidates. Carle at only 35 has really impressed with Denver in the last seven seasons, and has led Denver to national championship glory on two occasions while being a serious contender the other five seasons. But not only is it his on ice play and tactics which make him a coach to die for.

His man management and ability to push players to the next level, and identify players' potential and how to get them playing their best hockey is second to none. Had he joined a team like Chicago for example, his man to man management with the young core in Chicago will help leaps and bounds to make them into a better and NHL level team. His ability to identify chemistry, where things are and are not working within the lineup, and his abilities to switch the script when needed is what every NHL GM wants from their head coach. But despite having the perfect credentials and ability to become a solid NHL head coach, it is whether Carle wants to leave Denver, and step up into the extremely tough and challenging NHL environment.

At the start of this season when a number of teams were looking for new coaches,Carle was once again on the top of most teams lists as the number one candidate, but his desire to compete to win back to back National Championships with Denver made him stay put. But after exiting the Frozen Four tournament this year at the hands of Western Michigan, Carle could call it a day in Denver and finally make the move to the National league. Carle previously stated that nobody is safe as a coach in the NHL, and his choices to stay put in the NCAA were solely down to his comfortability, and time to improve to work towards the NHL level. But with the feeling that he has done everything he can for Denver, it could be time for a complete makeover for Carle, and to finally step up to the NHL where everyone wants to see him.

A number of hockey insiders and analysts have backed Carle’s decision not to jump too early to the NHL, and giving reasons as to why he would want to leave arguably the best team in college hockey to jump up to a struggling, rebuilding, and quite frankly bad team when he can be successful and decorated in the NCAA for the time being. But with pressure on his move up to the NHL, and NHL GM’s not holding back this year, the desire for Carle will be higher than ever, and there may be offers he just can't refuse.
