Kirill Kaprizov could be a serious contender for the Hart trophy

It's common knowledge amongst NHL fans that Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov has cemented his place as one of the best forwards in the league, but after an amazing start to the season, 2024/25 could be his year for the MVP. With 27 points in 14 games to start the 2024/25 season, Kirill the thrill is showing once again how he is one of the most elite playmakers and goal scorers in the league at the moment only 2 points behind 2024 MVP winner Nathan Mackinnon. The 2021 rookie of the year put up 96 points in 75 games last season as the Wild missed out on the playoffs, and has a career high 108 points in the 2021/22 season, but he will definitely be looking to beat that tally this year round. With great playmakers besides him in Marco Rossi, Zuccarello, Matt Boldy and Brock Faber, he will only continue to rack up the points, and drive closer towards that Hart Memorial trophy. Already putting up multiple 3 point games this season, the 27 year old Russian winger is projected to smash through the 100 point tally and give himself a good shot at the MVP award. Although it won't come easy and will need lots of consistency and resilience to stay amongst the top with the usual suspects Conor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl creeping their way back up to the top.

I'm sure the MVP award isn't the main priority for Kaprizov with main aims being the playoffs this year after missing out last year, but it's definitely a thought that will be in his mind throughout the year, and will possibly fuel his and his teams determination to continue to put up good wins this season. If Kaprizov can stay healthy for a strong majority of the year, and lead the Wild to the playoffs whilst putting up a solid tally of points, its no question his name will be scattered across MVP ballots across the league.
