Landeskog’s Leadership Is Exactly Why Colorado Could Go All The Way

The Colorado Avalanche took a much needed 4-0 blowout against the Stars in game four to even up the series at two apiece, but it was much more than just a game, as captain Gabriel Landeskog scored his first goal since June 20th, 2022.

Landeskog made his long awaited NHL return in game three of the series after an almost three year injury absence, but with the captain back in the lineup to beef up an already scary team, Landeskog’s return could be exactly what the Avs need to go all the way in the playoffs this year.

Despite having some great leadership on the team in the absence of Landeskog, the alternate captains like MacKinnon and Makar just don't have the same leadership feel as Landeskog, and with the 32 year old back in the lineup for the first time in over three years, the captain will bring some much needed motivation and leadership which the team struggled with during the last two playoff campaigns.

Not only will Landeskog’s communication and captainship, his heavy forechecking, two way game will be a massive help for the Avs, and with an already complete team across the ice, Landeskog’s return will only motivate the team more, and give them another reason to push themselves to the limit.

Landeskog has already felt what it is like, and knows what it takes to captain a team to a Stanley Cup before his injury, and with his looking fresh and ready to go so far in games three and four, with no fear or nerves in his return, Landeskog could be the missing piece the Avs will be licking their lips at, as their Stanley Cup leader is back in action.
