We all know the New York Rangers Matt Rempe is a freight train on the ice, and is now know as one of the most brutal and toughest players in the league, but with constant major penalties and fights under his belt only a year into his NHL career, will he ever learn from his mistakes and clear his name of any negativity?

During the Rangers matchup against the Nashville Predators on Sunday, Rangers winger Matt Rempe delivered yet another trademark hit on Nick Blankenburg which resulted in his eight career fight against the Predators Andreas Englund, raising his total penalty minutes on the season to 48 in only 26 games.

This time around, Rempe has avoided any sort of player safety meeting, fine or suspension, sanctions he has received for his bad hits in the past, but is still showing signs of being a dangerous player in the league. The fight against Englund started after an elbow on a charge by Matt Rempe, another vicious hit pulled from his repertoire, leaving the game with a bloody nose as a punishment for his actions by the hands of Andreas Englund.

But following this scrap, it's clear Rempe will not slow down, and after escaping the possible sanctions, it's clear Rempe will continue to play the enforcer role on the Rangers. After the NHL decided not to meet with Rempe in regard to his elbow on Nick Blankenburg Is it getting clearer that the NHL is endorsing a comeback to more physical and aggressive hockey?

Rempe has already fought some heavyweights in the league including Ryan Reaves and Mathieu Olivier, but one day he will fight the wrong guy. Rempe has received as much praise as backlash from these boots and fights over the course of his NHL career, and even praise from his coaches and even analysts, spurring him on to be the vicious and dangerous player he is.

With Rempe finding his role in a league short of opportunities, it's bound to be his role in the NHL for years to come, but some discipline needs to be adopted. Rempe who is thriving of being feared would not only be a great player, but a perfect and valuable asset to every team in the league had he tone down his play, but with his current blue collar role on the Rangers working perfectly in his favour, the ‘Rempire State Building’ doesn't look like he's slowing down anytime soon.
